BioHASH® is a Software solution that complies with the ISO 24745 standard on Biometric Template Protection. It can be used in a mode to support extremely fast biometric matching or in a mode to privately store digital fingerprints information.
The inherent (key-less) security resulting from using the cryptographic hash SHA-256 to protect the fingerprint information makes it possible to securely store fingerprint information without the need for more complex measures like Public Key Infrastructures. The BioHASH® technology makes it possible to make application-specific biometric templates that cannot be used in other applications.
BioHASH comes with all functionality to support enrolment, in which a reference BioHASH® template is generated, and recognition, in which a live measurement is translated into a BioHASH® template and compared to the reference data. The generated BioHASH® template can be stored in a database, RFID or Low-cost Smart Card, or a barcode that can be printed on an Identity Card.
BioHASH can be combined with any certified third party biometric recognition engine.
