Priv-ID starts Biometric Health Passports project in Cape Town, South Africa
Eindhoven, Cape Town, June 17th 2009 – priv-ID, a spin-out company of Royal Philips Electronics, in collaboration with the Medical Knowledge Institute introduces a biometric health passport in the township of Cape Town, Khayelitsha. The health passports will record the relevant medical history and a priv-ID biometric identity check is performed to establish a link between the health passport and its rightful owner. This project is the start of a large roll out of health passports with biometrics in South-Africa.
