priv-ID’s bioHASH solution provides key functionality to reduce identity fraud by uniquely verifying the biometric identity for legal documents ePassport, eID, driver’s license, Immigrant registration, Voter registration, permits etc.
Biometric verification functionality in current identity documents are deployed in limited applications. The main reason is the strong security requirements for storing the biometric information in the identity document. BioHASH offers the following benefits:

• Strong biometric identity checks, ruling out identity theft.
• Privacy is protected and there is no risk of a biometric data leak.
• For ePassports and eID, this methods complies with the ICAO standards and can be used as an addition or replacement of Extended Access Control (avoiding the deployment of a PKI infrastructure).
• Storage of the BioHASH templates in smartcards (for eID and ePassports), low-cost RFID based cards with limited security measures or in barcode on paper-based ID documents
